Certified Professional Parliamentarian-Teacher (CPP-T)
Certified Professional Parliamentarian is the highest credential awarded by the American Institute of Parliamentarians (AIP). To achieve this designation, a member must first pass a comprehensive written examination and meet the service requirements for Certified Parliamentarian. The candidate must then pass an oral examination based on several parliamentary authorities, show further experience and service to the profession, be recommended by the AIP Accrediting Committee, and be approved by the AIP Board of Directors.
Before awarding the credential, the AIP Board considers the candidate's test score, experience and ability as a parliamentarian, service to AIP, and dedication to the improvement of parliamentary procedure.
To earn the additional teacher designation, a parliamentarian must obtain additional training and teaching experience, be recommended by the AIP Education Director, and be approved by the AIP Board of Directors.
Professional Registered Parliamentarian (PRP)
Professional Registered Parliamentarian is the highest credential awarded by the National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP). To achieve this designation, a member must first complete a written exam to be classified as a Registered Parliamentarian. To earn full PRP standing, the candidate must then successfully complete a professional qualifying course covering advanced material prepared and administered by the registration examiners committee. |
